Cubs Canoeing event Tuesday 3rd March - 6.00pm to 7.30pm at the NorthBridge Boat Shed.  Address is Bethwaite Lane, (Clive Park), Northbridge.

Parents to drop children at location above and welcome to stay.

  • On Water Activities
    Water activities will be varied and may include canoes, kayaks and J24
    Correctly fitted PFDs MUST be worn on the water. Wear clothes for getting wet and enclosed footwear (old sneakers or water shoes) to protect from nails on the decking and oysters and rubbish in the water. No crocks or thongs.
    Scouts must be instructed on safe use of canoes and sailboats before going out on the water. 
    Remember briefings on Shark Smart - ON the water, not IN the water! Also applies after prolonged rain which impacts water quality.
    When out on the water, please paddle as a group and practice grouping and rafting skills.

Preparation

  • Activity: Outline any steps participants need to take before the event
  • Parking is very limited at the boat shed and access is by a single width track. Please consider parking at ClivePark and walking in. If you drive in, be ready to back up the track if necessary. Park only in marked spots. Car-pooling is encouraged.

Clothing & Equipment

  • Bring a back pack with water, hat, sunscreen, torch, towel and a change of clothes in case you get wet. The wind generally picks up when the sun sets around 7:30pm so bringing a towel and a warm jacket is a good idea!
